Family Day

In the Librarian's household, Sunday is Family day. It is the only day that both the Librarian and Mrs. Librarian are at home at the same time, so it has been officially designated as 'Family Day' We try to do something fun with the kids that we wouldn't usually do and this Family day was a trip to the University of Minnesota's Arboretum. The Arboretum, for you out of towners, is a huge tract of land in the middle of nowhere that has trails and flowers and fountains and trees and it is an abrupt change from the city, we love it. They also have special exhibits and this time it was secret gardens. So here are some pictures of the big Family Day, enjoy:

Here are Jack and Harry getting ready for the big day. They have to be separated by a blanket wall so they cannot see one another, or else they just get so excited about Family day. Notice the San Diego shirt that Jack is wearing. He thought it was very stylish.

Here are the older boys navigating one of the many hidden trails. They are pretending that they are looking for dinosaurs in the jungle. They are dressed identical by accident, Mrs Librarian and I are not that kind of parents just in case you thought other wise.

Here is a picture of Leo and his extra large dad. Iver took the picture, his mother was off feeding the twins. Is there anything that he can't do. Impressive.

Here is Mrs Librarian pushing Leo in his Jeep stroller. I no longer have a real Jeep and thought Leo should get rid of his out of loyalty to me, his dad, it was the right thing to do. Mrs Librarian did not agree and alas he still gets to ride in His Jeep. Yet another of life's little injustices. Check out the cool steering wheel. Of course my real one was cooler, but what are going to do the kid is only 2.

Here are a couple of shots of some of the Secret Gardens. In one we actually find a Dinosaur egg and Iver got to touch it. Luckily in did not hatch, he was kind of worried about that. The other picture is of a garden that had all these different colored panels and it showed how color changed your perception of plants. Very art schooly.

Here are one more shots of the trails, I think you get the idea. I think Mrs Librarian is pointing out a Mushroom. She never lets the chance to bring up mushrooms pass. If I didn't know better, I think should would marry one, that is if one could actually say something instead of just growing there on the ground.

Lets finish it up with a few pictures of the twins and a really cool Thomas the Train Set up- The Librarian know wooden train set up. See how one track goes under another, we are not fooling around here. That is seriously good set up.

Well that's all for now see you at the next family day.

I like the complex oval shape that Mr. Librarian based the train track design upon.
